Question 1

How do I find missing pets near me?

Accepted Answer

Search for your town or postcode, or use your location. The map zooms in and the list shows the newest reports there.

Question 2

Where do the reports come from?

Accepted Answer

From pet registries and public lost-pet boards in New Zealand. We collect them once a day and show every pet only once, even when it is listed in several places.

Question 3

How often is the map updated?

Accepted Answer

Once a day. Reports older than 12 months are taken off the map.

Question 4

I found a cat. What should I do?

Accepted Answer

Check the map for missing cats near where you found it, have it scanned for a microchip at a vet or shelter, and report it for free if nobody is looking for it yet.

Question 5

How do I report my missing pet?

Accepted Answer

Start a report with a photo and the place it was last seen. We alert the people nearby within the hour.
