For Newcastle upon Tyne, we list Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter. Address: Benton North Farm, Benton Lane, Longbenton, Newcastle upon Tyne NE12 8EH. Phone: 0191 215 0435. Call before you go and ask about animals brought in recently.
No. The branch states that it is currently not rehoming animals and does not have the capacity to take animals in, so it is worth contacting other shelters or the council dog warden service for strays.

Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter advises against feeding a cat that comes to your home, because it may already have a home and will keep coming back to be fed. If the cat keeps hanging around, or you find a litter of kittens without their mother, call the shelter for advice. If the cat looks unwell, contact a local vet. The shelter's Claremont Road Centre has closed permanently, and everything now runs from Benton North Farm.
