It is shown to the people who live and get around near the spot where your cat was last seen – within 1 mi of Stowmarket, that's about 20,000 people. The alert goes live within 60 minutes. Anyone who spots your cat reports the sighting on your search page, and you get it by email straight away.
Check your home and the area around the escape point carefully. Look under cover and ask the people next door to check inside sheds and garages. A frightened cat may stay hidden without answering your calls.

Yes. Stowmarket is in England, where a cat must be microchipped and registered by the time it is 20 weeks old, including cats that usually stay indoors. Mid Suffolk District Council's guidance says owners can be fined up to £500 if a cat is not microchipped when it needs to be, and that a vet or a local rescue and rehoming centre can microchip it, possibly for a fee.

Use Mid Suffolk District Council’s online “Report a dead animal” form. The council moves dead animals from public highways and land it owns; this can include domestic pets. It does not cover private land or the A12 and A14, and reports cannot be anonymous. If it finds a microchip or contact details on a collar, it will try to contact the owner.
