Birmingham City Council does not collect stray dogs outside office hours; dogs reported are collected the next working day. Out of hours you can keep the dog safe until then, take it to a vet or animal charity to be scanned for a microchip, or call the police on 101 (999 if the dog is aggressive and a risk to the public).

Report a stray via the council's online form or call Birmingham Dog Wardens on 0121 303 6007. Collected dogs are boarded at several kennels through Worcester Regulatory Services, and Birmingham Dogs Home no longer kennels strays collected by the council. If the council has your dog, it will tell you how to pay the claim fees.
