Not at the moment. Glasgow City Council's stray dog service is suspended until further notice (notice on the council's stray-dog page, last modified June 2026). The council says staff at a police station or veterinary surgery should be able to read the dog's microchip for the owner's details. Outside warden hours (9.30 am to 3.30 pm, Monday to Friday) the dog should be taken to the local police station, or you can call the police on 101.

Four Firework Control Zones are confirmed for Glasgow, live from Friday 30 October to Monday 9 November 2026: Govanhill/Pollokshields, Broomhouse, Glasgow Harbour and Pollok. The council set up the Broomhouse and Pollok zones because animal welfare facilities are located there. Inside a zone it is an offence to set off a firework anywhere, including in private gardens. Breaching a zone can mean up to six months in jail and a fine of up to £5000.
