For a licensed pet, the redemption fee is $15 plus $10 per day of boarding for a first offense; for an unlicensed pet it is $30 plus $10 per day. Any veterinary treatment is added. Under Ordinance No. 290, Series 2007, an unlicensed, unaltered dog, cat or ferret must be spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and licensed before it is released to its owner. The shelter says cost should not stop owners from coming in to talk to them.
