Dead cats and dogs found by Luton Borough Council's Street Cleansing team are taken to the council's central depot and scanned for a microchip. If a pet has no microchip, its details are recorded and the body is kept in a freezer for one month before disposal. If your pet is missing, you can ask the Dog Wardens whether it has been brought to the depot.
